Reaction v/s Responding

I just read somewhere that if any problem arrives you should never react to it instead you should respond ,for eg. Let me tell you one story adapted from Sundar Pichal (IIT-MIT)  Once in a restaurant a group of ladies were having lunch ,during the meal by mistake one cockroach flies in the restaurant and starts moving and finds a way to go out ,while all this happening the bug flies on a lady sitting on the table and she shouts aloud, all panicked and scared the whole group makes a mess of that situation and start screaming ,the waiter sees that and rushes to the table and tells the lady to be calm ,the lady swipes the bug from her clothes and it fells on the waiter instead panicking again and troubling the sitting customers he calmly watches the behavior of the cockroach and grabs it and throws out.
Perfect end for a busy and ugly creature ,neither the bug got scared and ran places nor the waiter screamed for help.
There are many situations like this or different then this where we face such problems and react which makes the trouble more worse. If our priority is responding then before taking any step we get time to analyze the fault and act in profit of yourself.
More than the problem its our reaction to the problem that creates chaos in our life.
In the story the women reacted ,whereas the waiter responded.Reactions our always instinctive whereas responses are always well thought of.
Its never that someone troubles you for enjoyment rather its their goodness that they feel free while talking to you about their miseries, intact its never the shouting of our fathers or bosses or wife that disturbs us ,but our inability to handle the disturbance caused by their shouting that disturbs us.
SO LESSON LEARNT : NEVER REACT BUT RESPOND!!!
beautiful way of understanding life..
